The innovative power of the games industry drives advancements in digital technologies that are becoming increasingly important in many areas of our lives. The enormous reach and cultural relevance of games also make it possible to connect with new target groups outside the range of traditional communication channels and media.
To highlight this potential, we organise symposia on new ways to apply games and arrange talks between experts from the games industry, the research sector and civil society.
We also develop game jams and other creative formats on socially relevant topics such as democratisation and the culture of remembrance. One recent example is our initiative ‘Erinnern mit Games’ (Remembering with games), which includes events and projects funded by partners like the Foundation ‘Remembrance, Responsibility and Future’ (EVZ), the Körber Foundation and ‘Deutscher Kulturrat’ (German Cultural Council).
